Aldermen

In July 2007, the Council voted to give the title of Honorary Aldermen to two former District Councillors Elsa Boyce and Briony Newport.

This honour was in recognition of both women's dedicated years of service to the Council and the local community.

Mrs Boyce and Mrs Newport stood down as District Councillors at the local elections in May 2007. Mrs Boyce had served on the Council since 1987 and Mrs Newport since 1991.
