Abingdon

Abingdon is the largest town in the Vale of White Horse District, located on the A34 (the main route from Southampton to the Midlands) and only six miles south of Oxford.

The Abingdon Joint Economic Forum is working to improve the vitality of the town centre. The Forum is made up of representatives of the Vale of White Horse District Council, Abingdon Town Council and Abingdon Chamber of Commerce.

A recent project of the Joint Economic Forum is the Abingdon Shoppers’ Guide, which aims to remind everyone that Abingdon town centre has a wide range of interesting and helpful businesses.

Abingdon is a Fairtrade town meaning that it has made a commitment to buy Fairtrade products when possible. Fairtrade products are designed to offer more equitable returns for farmers in Africa, Asia and Latin America. For more information see the Abingdon Fairtrade Group website.

The town also has an active chamber of commerce - for further information see the Abingdon Chamber of Commerce website.
