Residents' surveys

Every couple of years we conduct a sampled, face to face survey to understand residents' views of the council.

Since 2012 we have been speaking to residents on the doorstep and asking them what they think about the council and the services we provide.  Typically we aim to speak to about 1,100 residents of all ages from different parts of the district to give us a robust representative sample.

We ask a number of questions; from trust in the council and satisfaction with different services to what we should do more or less of in the future.  Many of these questions are recommended by the Local Government Association and because we reuse them every two years, it’s possible for us to track our performance over time and identify areas where we can improve.

Essentially the surveys are about making sure we are doing our job well.
