Working in partnership

The Council works closely with other authorities and organisations on a range of projects and services.

We find that by working together and sharing resources we can achieve more than an organisation would do on their own. Partnership working can offer other advantages as well, including cost savings.

Partners we regularly work with include:

These are just some examples of how we are work with our partners¿

To reduce crime, disorder and the fear of crime

The Council's Community Safety Team works in partnership with Thames Valley Police, Oxfordshire County Council, Oxfordshire Primary Care Trust and other agencies to reduce crime, disorder and the fear of crime. By working together we can help the police tackle issues like anti-social behaviour, drug and alcohol misuse and road safety. For more information see our Safer communities pages.

To reduce waste and encourage recycling

All six councils in Oxfordshire are working together as the Oxfordshire Waste Partnership to help reduce waste and maximise reuse, recycling and composting. By working together we can share the cost of promotions that help to reduce waste; we can also share ideas that help to improve the efficiency of our waste collection services. For more information see our page about the Oxfordshire Waste Partnership.

To plan for a sustainable future

The Vale Partnership brings together key service providers from the public, private and voluntary sectors to work jointly to tackle issues and plan for the future. By working together we can plan projects that help to improve the quality of life of everyone who lives in, works in or visits the Vale. For more details see our page about the Vale's Community Strategy.

To build on success...

The Science Vale UK partnership brings together the key players who are committed to building on the success of the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus and Milton Park. By working together we can attract new public and private investment and help to create jobs that are well paid and interesting. For more details see our pages about Science Vale UK.

To promote good relations between different cultures...

The Embrace Partnership promotes good relations between different cultures and communities and tackles racial harassment. By working together we have a better understanding of the many different cultures that are represented in Southern Oxfordshire. For more information see our page about The Embrace Partnership.
