The Embrace partnership
Working in partnership to promote equality and diversity in the Vale
Embrace is a partnership of local organisations (including the Vale of White Horse District Council) which want to promote good relations between different cultures and communities and stop racial harassment. To do this, the partners work together to listen and respond to the needs of communities in Southern Oxfordshire, particularly people from ethnic minority groups. For more information see our page The Embrace Partnership.
HALT (Homophobia Awareness Liaison Team)
HALT is an Oxfordshire wide multi-agency partnership which aims to challenge and eliminate all forms of homophobia, biphobia and transphobia in the county. The Team also can also offer support to victims of homophobic, biphobic or transphobic abuse. You can find out more about HALT's work by going to our Homophobia Awareness Liaison Team (HALT) page.
The Vale Disability Access Group (VDAG)
VDAG brings together a number of disabled residents and carers from across the district so they can:
- Find out more about Vale Housing Association and Council services and consultations
- Help improve the services provided by these two organisations
- Identify and explore any wider access issues (for example access to town centre shops)
To find out more about VDAG and to get information about a range of council services that are designed specifically to support disabled people in the Vale, please see our page Disability equality information and contacts.
