Your council tax bill
Council Tax is set by local councils to help pay for local services. Residents or owners of most domestic properties in the District are required to pay Council Tax.
Council Tax bills consist of elements set by Oxfordshire County Council, Thames Valley Police Authority, the Vale of White Horse District Council and your local Parish or Town Council. As well as collecting our own element of the council tax, the Vale also collects on behalf of these other organisations.
These pages give more details about how your Council Tax bill is made up and how to pay your bill.
If you are on a low income or are receiving welfare benefits you may be entitled to Council Tax Reduction Scheme to help pay your Council Tax bill. For more information please see our Council Tax Reduction pages.
The Council's revenues and benefits service, which includes Council Tax, is provided by the Council's contractors Capita Local Government Services. If you would like further information, please contact the Council Tax Section using the details in the 'contact' section of the website.
