Local land charges
The council's Land Charges Section responds to requests for information about charges and restrictions affecting property and details about planning, building regulations, roads, traffic schemes and environmental matters.
We normally expect to complete a search within ten working days. However, if you have not received a response to a request for a search within three weeks, please contact us.

Local Land Charges Personal Searches
Anyone can carry out a personal search of the Local Land Charges Register by making a appointment. Questions on the CON29 can also be provided by the Land Charges on a Personal Search appointment, please see our fees above.
Appointments
Appointments are available between 10am and 1pm each day and may be made by phone between 9am and 4pm. They are available for up to five searches per appointment, only one appointment may be made per day. Each appointment is for a maximum of one hour.
Details of the addresses of the properties should be emailed, together with a plan and an order form - which can be downloaded from the right of the page - two working days in advance, to allow us to prepare the necessary information, i.e. details for a search to be performed on a Wednesday should be emailed to us by 9am the previous Monday.
