Strategic Flood Risk Assessment
The Vale, together with South Oxfordshire District Council, has commissioned consultants to carry out a joint Strategic Flood Risk Assessment of the two Districts, except for Didcot for which a separate joint study was carried out in 2007. The results of this study have been included in the Environment Agency's flood zone maps. For more information on the Didcot study see South Oxfordshire's website .
The Strategic Flood Risk Assessment redefines the flood risk zones within the District around the five main settlements of Abingdon, Botley, Wantage, Grove and Faringdon and the 11 largest villages. The assessment also identifies areas which are at risk from other forms of flooding such as surface and ground water.
