Flats and communal properties

Been told to use sacks instead of bins?

If we have identified your home as being unsuitable for wheeled bins you will have instead been provided with pink sacks for your rubbish and green sacks for your recycling, which will be collected fortnightly (rubbish one week and recycling the next). This is a year's supply and there will be enough sacks for you to use up to four green recycling sacks and three pink rubbish sacks every fortnight. You will also have been given a food bin and kitchen caddy for your food waste, which will be collected weekly.

For more information about your sack collections see the leaflet about on the right of this page.

Please note we will only collect rubbish or recycling put out in sacks we have provided - we will no longer collect any waste put out in black sacks.

Live in a flat or communal building?

If you live in a flat or communal property and share a large bin with your neighbours this will continue although you can now also recycle more items and have your food waste collected.

All flats and communal areas should by now have received new large bulk bins for rubbish and recycling along with a new shared blue bin for food waste.

Each property should also have received a food waste caddy, a roll of compostable food waste liners, a reusable recycling bag for you to keep in your flat to take your recycling down to your shared bins and a leaflet explaining how to use your new bins. This leaflet can be downloaded from the right of the page.
