Description
New double-glazed double hung leaded timber casement window in wall in approximate position of an old aperture that was bricked up about 100 years ago. It is proposed to replicate the French windows in the same style which are directly above and which were added as part of the consent granted in 2005. The gross width of the opening part to be 1160mm and the gross height 1048 as shown on the attached drawing. An alternative would be to seek to replicate the older metal leaded window which lies alongside the proposed new window but this would be more complicated, less effective in terms of convenience, comfort and warmth for the occupiers and somewhat of a pastiche. The advantage of the preferred window outlined about is that it will clearly demarcate the new from the old and be consistent with the nearly new.
