When will we empty your bins?

Update 27 August 2021

Garden Waste service is still suspended. For more information please see our garden waste page.

Update – 19 July 2021 – Current disruptions to waste collection services

We are very sorry if your bins were not emptied as expected in the past couple of weeks. Our waste collection services are still facing some disruptions, and we are also sorry to say that we expect the disruption to continue for a while longer.

The disruption is due to the ongoing issues of a shortage of HGV drivers who are needed to drive our waste collection vehicles – we also have an increasing number of waste collection staff being  advised to self-isolate by the government’s Track and Trace system. As you are probably aware these are national issues, not just affecting us locally.

The limited numbers of staff still able to work are doing their best to get to as many homes as they can, and have been working weekends to try and catch up – but as you can imagine, that job has been made all the more difficult with the extremely hot weather we’ve been experiencing.

If any of your waste was not collected last week, or if your bins are missed in the next couple of weeks, firstly leave the bins out for 3 days after your usual bin day  and if still not collected  please bring your bins back in and put them out next time they are due to be collected.

While we normally do not collect extra black bin rubbish, if we are unable to collect yours as a result of this disruption, you can leave up to three black sacks’ worth out the next time it is due.

Please remember you can always put out additional recycling and food waste on your next scheduled collection.

We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience and we and our waste contractor are working hard to try and resolve these issues.

Your bins are emptied on the same day every week.

***You need to put your bin out for collection before 6am on your collection day.  (It’s ok to put your bin out the evening before.)

Get your waste collection dates on your smartphone by downloading our BINZONE app on Android or iPhone/iPad – just search “binzone” in your appstore today!

We collect your food waste every week in the food caddy.

We collect recycling and non-recyclables fortnightly – recycling from your green wheelie bin one week, non-recyclables from your black wheelie bin the next.

We also collect garden waste. This is an optional service which you can subscribe to for an annual fee.  It is usually collected in the same week as your recycling unless we advise otherwise.

You can download a waste collections calendar from our waste collections calendar webpage.

If you are a sacks customer, you can find your calendar on the dedicated sack customer webpage.
