Help for individuals and families

Help is available if you’re struggling because of COVID-19 and you have nobody around to help you.

Call our Community Hub on 01235 422600 if you need support or complete the online form.

The Community Support team is available from:

  • 8.30am-5pm Monday to Thursday
  • 8.30am-4.30pm on Fridays

The team will put you in touch with a network of volunteer groups and organisations who can help you with food, medicine and friendly phone calls during the pandemic. In the most urgent cases, the team will be able to support you with food and prescription deliveries.

We recommend you contact us by phone if you’re in urgent need but if you need general advice, you can contact the team via email communitysupport@southandvale.gov.uk.

Covid-19 restrictions

England is now in national lockdown.

Please see the government website for the current lockdown guidelines

Those who have been identified as Clinically Extremely Vulnerable have been advised to shield. You can find out more about shielding by pressing the button below

If you require additional care and support

  • You should continue to receive care at home, either from professional social care and medical professionals, or from friends and family within your support bubble.
  • You should continue to access the NHS services that you need, and you should contact the NHS if you have an urgent or emergency care need

You can find more about this on the government’s website.

If you are Clinically Extremely Vulnerable and are not registered for support, you can do so on the government’s website. If you need any help completing the form please call 01235 422600.

If you don’t require any additional support and you want to let us know, you can do so by filling out the NSSS (National Shielding Service System) form on the government’s website. We will then be informed that you do not need any help.
