Table tennis tables will be appearing in locations across the Vale over the summer. The tables are part of an ongoing initiative to help residents be active and healthy.
The council is working alongside Table Tennis England, the Didcot Garden Town project team and Didcot Town Council to part fund the tables.
The permanent tables will be in the following outdoor locations:
- Shrivenham, Memorial Hall SN6 8BL
- Kennington, Forest Side playing field, OX1 5LQ – coming soon
The following locations have tables indoors:
The Southern (OX11 6HQ) and District Community (OX11 6GR) centres on Great Western Park, Didcot
Also in Didcot are outdoor tables in the following locations:
- St Edmunds Park, Didcot, OX11 8QE
- Ladygrove Park, Tyne Avenue, Didcot OX11 7UL
And a semi-permanent table will be in Faringdon, Eagles Park SN7 7BN – coming soon
All facilities are free to use except the indoor tables where there will be a small charge and you can hire the bats and balls. Residents wanting to use the outdoor tables will need to bring their own bats and balls.

Sport in Mind
Sport In Mind hold a free weekly walk for Mental Wellbeing in Abingdon every Wednesday from 11.30-12.30pm
The walk is a FREE fun, relaxed group, for people experiencing mental health problems. They meet outside the Malthouse Surgery, Charter, OX14 3JY. Please contact Liz McElroy for more details 07760958668
Active Reach is a community-based, collaborative project funded by Sport England and brings together local charities, grass-roots groups and individuals to help people in the greatest need increase their activity levels and protect both their physical and mental wellbeing.
There are currently activities such as mini tennis and tai chi taking place in Abingdon and Faringdon.
