Description
3 St Michaels is a Grade II listed building set within the former Cloisters of the St Michaels nunnery. The house has single glazed windows and doors throughout. However on the ground floor the windows and doors are set within the wooden panelling that the property developers used to fill the space of the Cloisters to make the house habitable. The house is very cold in winter due to the draft that comes through the single glazing and it is not energy efficient. As the wooden panels and windows/doors within the wooden panels were not part of the original structure of the Grade II listed building, I am proposing putting in 2 double glazed windows and 2 double glazed doors. All other windows set within the original brickwork will remain unchanged. The new double glazed windows and doors will be timber effect and heritage in style to ensure they are in keeping with St Michaels' aesthetic.
