Pest control

Unfortunately the council is unable to offer a pest control service due to budget constraints. Many private contractors offer pest control treatments (although we cannot recommend contractors). The council has no legal duty to treat infestations of pests. The only statutory duty it has is to serve notices on the owners or occupiers of places or land that are infested requiring them to get rid of the infestation.

If you are aware of a problem with pests please contact the environmental protection team so they can investigate and if necessary, serve notices requiring the problem to be dealt with.
