In Vale the turnout figures were 48.8 per cent for district, 47.5 per cent for parish and 49.2 per cent for the referendum.
Nationally, voters said No to a switch from the current first past the post to the Alternative Vote (AV) system. Voters in Vale also overwhelming rejected changing the voting system. In Vale 30,510 voted No and 14,740 Yes. For information about the results of the referendum go to Electoral Commission website.
