In Vale the turnout figures were 48.8 per cent for district, 47.5 per cent for parish and 49.2 per cent for the referendum.

Nationally, voters said No to a switch from the current first past the post to the Alternative Vote (AV) system. Voters in Vale also overwhelming rejected changing the voting system.
