Adoption of Local Plan 2031 Part 1: Strategic Sites and Policies
The Local Plan 2031 Part 1 was adopted by Full Council on Wednesday 14 December 2016. A copy of the Adopted Local Plan 2031 Part 1 and associated documentation can be viewed below. These documents are also available to view at the Council’s Offices at 135 Eastern Avenue, Milton Park, Milton, OX14 4SB (opening times Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5pm and Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm) and at libraries in the district (details included in the Adoption Statement below).

The Council received the Inspector’s Report on 30 November 2016. The report outlined the findings of the Inspector, Mr Malcolm Rivett on his examination of the Local Plan 2031: Part 1 and concluded that, subject to a number of main modifications, the plan is ‘sound’.
A copy of the Inspector’s Report and Appendix that contains the Schedule of Main Modifications can be viewed and accessed below. A copy is also available to view at the Council's Offices at 135 Eastern Avenue, Milton Park, Milton, OX14 4SB and at libraries in the district.

Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Update
We have prepared a Scoping Update as part of the early work to inform our Sustainability Appraisal for Local Plan 2031 Part 2. The update is available to view here.
What's the difference between Part One and Part Two?
Part one deals with the larger 'strategic' sites and policies in the Vale. This Plan is used to help guide development in the Vale. Part two will set out strategic policies and locations for strategic housing for the agreed quantum of Oxford’s unmet housing need to be addressed within the Vale of White Horse District. This document will also contain policies for the part of Didcot Garden Town that lies within the Vale of White Horse District and detailed development management policies to complement the Local Plan Part 1, replacing the saved policies of the Local Plan 2011, and allocating additional development sites for housing and other uses.

Over the coming months we will be providing Local Plan Bulletins. They will also provide a brief outline of the work we will be doing over the coming months on preparing our Local Plan 2031 Part 2.
