World Homeless Day Monday 10 October 2022

To mark World Homeless Day today, Monday 10 October, we have a joint statement from Cllr Helen Pighills, Vale of White Horse District Council Cabinet Member for Healthy Communities, and Cllr Maggie Filipova-Rivers, South Oxfordshire District Council Cabinet Member for Community Wellbeing:

“The cost of living crisis is affecting people in so many ways, including paying for the roof over their head. There is a danger of people finding themselves in situations they never thought possible, where their bills are such that their homes are at risk.

“We want to remind our residents that today, on World Homeless Day, that the councils’ housing needs team continues to work tirelessly to prevent homelessness.

“If you do find yourselves in difficulties and you could be at risk of homelessness then please contact our housing needs team at the earliest opportunity. They are there to help you.”
