Strategic Property Policies
Property Asset Acquisition Policy
The purpose of the councils’ Property Asset Acquisition Policy is to set out the principles and processes by which the councils will acquire property. The policy informs officers and members when considering the acquisition of additional property assets (land or buildings) to be brought under the control of the councils.
Property Asset Disposal Policy
This policy provides a framework by which the councils might consider how surplus or underperforming assets within its existing property asset portfolio (land and buildings) can deliver and maximise capital receipts and/or revenue, to facilitate the council’s provision of existing and future services and locality needs.
Community Asset Transfer Policy
This Community Asset Transfer policy document provides a framework by which the council may consider the transfer of management and/or ownership of public land and buildings from the council to a third party organisation for less than market value in order to achieve a local social, economic or environmental benefit. Organisations eligible for Community Asset Transfers include registered charities, parish and town councils and community groups.
Action for nature recovery on council owned land
The purpose of this policy is to outline the process for community groups wishing to undertake nature recovery projects, including tree planting, on council owned land. This policy contains guidance and how groups can make an application.
