Early careers and apprenticeships
Graduate Programme
We joined the LGA’s flagship graduate programme Impact in 2023 – a fast-track graduate programme for bright and passionate individuals who want to make a difference while excelling in their own careers.
Graduates rotate between three to four placements to gain a wide range of experience and skills, alongside development modules, delivered by both Impact and by the councils, working towards a Level 7 CMI qualification.

Work experience
Every year, we give young people an opportunity to find out more about careers in local government through work experience in the Spring and Summer terms.
Our application process will open in January and will be for students in Year 10 or above that attend a school within our districts.
