Vale of White Horse District Council – At the Heart of the Vale prize draw Terms and Conditions

  1. This prize draw is organised by Vale of White Horse District Council (The Council) Abbey House, Abbey Close, Abingdon OX14 3JE.

How to enter

  • The prize draw will run from 5pm on Tuesday 7 May 2024 (“the Opening Date”) to 11:59pm on Tuesday 14 May 2024 (“the Closing Date”). All entries must be received by the Council by no later 11:59pm on the Closing Date.
  • Entries received after the Closing Date will not be counted.
  • To enter the prize draw, send an email to jointheconversation@southandvale.gov.uk after completing the survey in full at www.whitehorsedc.gov.uk/HeartOfTheVale , with your name, age and Survey ID in your email (which you will receive after completion) by the Closing Date.
  • Entries received without a completed Survey ID included in the email will not be counted.
  • All entrants will need to complete a final declaration to confirm they are aged 18-25 and live in the district. Details on how to do this will be included in the reply to the original entry.
  • The prize draw is free to enter and no purchase is necessary.
  • By submitting an entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
  • The Council does not accept any responsibility for entries not successfully completed as a result of systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software technical fault of any kind.

Eligibility

  1. The prize draw is open to any resident of Vale of White Horse District aged 18 to 25 years, except employees of the Council.
  2. There is only one entry per person.

The Draw

  1. One winner will be chosen by a random draw within one month of the Closing Date.
  2. The winner will be contacted within 7 days of being chosen, using the email address provided at entry. The winner must respond within 14 days. If the winner does not respond within 14 days, the Council will be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above.
  3. The winner consents to their name, town and winning entry being published in the event that the Council is required to do so by the Advertising Standards Agency. If the winner objects to any or all of their surname, town and winning entry being published or made available, please contact the Council at communications@southandvale.gov.uk. In such circumstances, the Council must still provide the winner’s information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority if requested.

The Prize

  1. The prize will be delivered to the winner within 14 days of responding to the Council and providing a postal address.
  2.  One winner from the district will receive a voucher worth £25 for spending on the high street.
  3. The prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered. The Council reserves the right to replace the prize with an alternative prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond the Council’s control make it necessary to do so.
  4. The decision of the Council on any aspect of the prize draw or competition is final and binding.

Limitation of liability

  1. Insofar as is permitted by law, the Council will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize, except where it is caused by the negligence of the Council. Your statutory rights are not affected.

Data protection

  • The Council will only use the personal information provided in accordance with these terms and conditions, as agreed to by the entrant in the quiz, and in accordance with the Council’s consultation privacy policy.
  • By entering, you are providing your explicit consent that personal details provided may be held and used for the purpose of administering the competition and will be deleted once the prize has been received.

General

  • The Council reserves the right to hold, void, cancel, suspend or amend the promotion where it becomes necessary to do so.
  • The prize draw will be governed by English law and entrants to the prize draw submit to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
