Environment wardens Colin Marshall and Sadie Broadbridge can offer a helping hand to anyone in the District who wants to do their bit to keep their local community clean and tidy.
They can provide help, advice and equipment to anyone who wants to organise a litter pick.
The wardens will arrange for litter picking kits to be delivered to you in time for your event and will then organise for all the litter which is collected to be picked up by our waste contractors the following day.
The equipment kits are free to borrow, and include safety vests and gloves, litter picking sticks and rubbish bags.
Anyone can borrow the kits, from a small group of friends or neighbours to clubs, schools or voluntary groups.
Colin said: “We are hoping that by taking the hassle out of organising a litter pick more people will get involved in cleaning up their community. It doesn’t have to be a big event or involve lots of people to make a difference.
“The other benefit of having regular clean ups is that once an area is litter free it makes people think twice before they drop litter there again, so the area stays clean and tidy for longer.”
