Abbey Meadow, Abingdon

The Abbey Meadow is a delightful park at the end of Abbey Close in Abingdon; the River Thames forms the southern boundary.

We are currently making a number of improvements to Abbey Meadow - find out about these by visiting Abbey Meadow improvements.

Access

  • by car via Abbey Close. There is a pay-and-display car park directly next to the park.
  • by river tying up at the moorings site.
  • by foot through the historical Abbey Gardens at the rear of the council offices, along Abbey Close, or from Audlett Drive through Crab Tree Place.
  • good cycle links with the Sustrans Cycle Route running through the park.

Features

The park has a large area for informal play, a new well-equipped play area, an interactive water feature and attractive riverside walks.  Please note - the play area and interactive water feature are dog-free areas.

The outdoor heated swimming pool is expected to reopen in 2018 once replacement work has been carried out.
