Taking part in a meeting

We are currently conducting council committee meetings face-to-face in line with Government requirements and we also broadcast them online via video conferencing.

You can take part in a council meeting by making a statement or asking a question. To do so, you need to register to speak at the meeting by email to democratic.services@southandvale.gov.uk by 12noon on the working day before the meeting.

You will then receive an email confirming the meeting details and instructions on how you can make your statement or ask your question. Members of the public can participate in person, remotely via Microsoft Teams or via a written statement.

Where possible, we encourage people to attend meetings virtually to help reduce private car journeys to the council offices.

We have created this useful guide for anyone planning to attend the Planning Committee meeting at Vale of White Horse District Council. It explains how the meeting works, how to speak, and how to ask for reasonable adjustments.

To find out when meetings are taking place and for links to meeting agendas, please see our Calendar of Meetings.
