Custom and self-build register
We keep a register of people and organisations who are looking to buy land to build their own home. This helps us develop our housing and planning policies.
To help us understand how much interest there is for self/custom build in the district, please complete our online register.
By submitting this form you are agreeing for us to use the data and information you provide to determine how much demand there is for self-build housing. We may also use it to see if there are ways we could bring you together with people who have plots of land to sell. Please note that registration does not guarantee we’ll ever be able to identify a suitable plot of land, or that one will ever become available. If and when we do become aware of any self or custom-build plots we can use this register to notify you.
Planning policies, including those related to design, will apply to all self-build properties.
If you’d like to find out more about self-build, have a look at the Self-Build Portal.
We also monitor self and custom build permissions and register entries – this information can be found in our Authority Monitoring Report.
Vale of White Horse District Council is collecting your personal details to provide you with the information you have requested. We will retain your details for monitoring purposes, and we may contact you in future to evaluate this service. We would also like to contact you in future, via email, telephone or post, to provide you with details about self-build. We will not use your details for any other purpose.
By completing this form you agree to us processing your personal information as described.
