Western Valley Neighbourhood Plan

Western Valley Parish Council is working on creating a neighbourhood plan to influence the way their area grows and develops into the future.

What’s happening now?

Vale of White Horse district council designated the Western Valley Neighbourhood Area on 1 October 2025. The original application sought designation of the entire parish area. However, due to a GIS mapping error, a small section of the parish was omitted in the designated neighbourhood area.

The district council is therefore undertaking a six-week consultation on a proposal to redesignate the neighbourhood area to include the omitted section. You can view a map showing the current and proposed designated neighbourhood area boundary.

The consultation runs for six weeks and concludes at 11:59pm on 4 August 2026.

Paper copies are available to view at Great Western Park District Community Centre Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 9:00pm, Saturday from 10:30am to 5:00pm, and Sunday from 8:00am to 5:30pm.

These can also be viewed by appointment at the district council’s office at Abbey House, Abbey Close, Abingdon, OX14 3JE on Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5:00pm and Friday 8:30am to 4:00pm. Please email or call us to make an appointment.

They can also be made available to view in an alternative format (for example large print, braille, audio, email, Easy Read and alternative languages) on request.
