Car parking

NOTICE:  The Rye Farm coach and lorry park is closed until further notice

.

News - You will notice that we've installed some new pay and display machines.  The new machines will allow you to pay by credit and debit card and will also accept coins, including the new £1.  Old £1 coins will continue to be accepted until they cease circulation in October.
You will also still be able to pay by your mobile phone via the Connect Cashless system.
When using the new machines you will need to insert your vehicle registration on the key pad when paying to park and where possible, will be installed into existing machine holders to save waste.

We are responsible for public off-street car parks and offer a range of long and short stay parking facilities in Abingdon, Wantage, Faringdon and Botley.

All our car parks, except the Charter multi-storey are open 24 hours and operational between 8am and 6pm, which is the period when charges apply.

In pay and display car parks, between 8am and 6pm you will need to display a valid ticket, including for the free two hour period.

There is a no return policy to all of the pay and display car parks: once the vehicle leaves a car park it may only return to any one of the car parks within the town you are in within two hours if a charge is paid.

The council's parking orders (see Downloads section on parking fines page) include the costs of standard parking fees and longer term parking permits. Information about these fees can also be found under the individual car parks.

For details of all our car parks as well as information about parking permits and parking fines, see the page menu.

For any other queries please contact the council's car parks team (see Contacts section of this page). Outside office hours please leave a message, or telephone our out-of-hours emergency telephone number: 01235 422420
