UK Shared Prosperity Fund and Rural England Prosperity Fund
UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF)
The UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) provided funding for local investment, focusing on creating opportunities and pride in place for areas of deprivation for local residents and businesses.
Over 60 projects were delivered across South and Vale through internal teams, external procurement and grants to deliver the following government aims:
- Community and neighbourhood infrastructure
- Creation of green spaces
- Local arts, culture, heritage, and creative activities
- Development and promotion of the visitor economy
- Enterprise, Infrastructure & employment/innovation sites
- Supporting decarbonisation and improving the natural environment whilst growing the local economy
- Green skills.
Projects included the Berinsfield skatepark and pumptrack, creative events and workshops, art installations, nature trails and tree planting, Ride Revolution, Thameside Wizzer Park, an employment support programme, OSEP’s social impact business support programme, green skills courses, Net zero guides for businesses, energy assessments and decarbonisation plans, grant funding for green projects, the creation of the Southern Oxfordshire website and more.
Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF)
The Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF) provided capital grant funding for projects that support rural businesses, or serve and benefit the local economy and community. You can find out all about the REPF scheme via our slide deck.
Projects that were funded included farm shop upgrades, equipment and storage, accessible play areas, a net zero sports pavilion and more.
