Local Land Charges – service downtime

Due to the planned essential maintenance at the council, there will be a temporary interruption to the Local Land Charges Service. During this period, we will be unable to process Local Land Charges search requests

Anticipated minimum service disruption dates: 24 May 2025 to 17 June 2025.

We anticipate that searches will be accepted from 3 June 2025. There will be a delay in our processing of searches because of the downtime beyond the normal eight-day turnaround period. Our anticipated return timeframe for searches will be 20 days from the date of acceptance. We will update this information from 4 June 2025.

Please note that we cannot guarantee that searches registered from 21 May 2025 will be returned before the service disruption begins.

The Land Charges Team can provide copies of:

  • Planning Legal Agreements – £41.42 each
  • Tree Preservation Order – £27.37 each
  • Copies of a Local Authority Search – £34.03 each
  • Miscellaneous documents including Notices, Breach of Condition Notices, Planning Contravention Notices etc – £20.71 each

Rates effective from 1 April 2025.

Most of the Legal agreements and Planning decision notices can be viewed free of charge via the Planning decision register.

If you require Land Charges to provide copies of any of the documents there will be a charge. You will need to make request by emailing land.charges@whitehorsedc.gov.uk giving the address of the property and the documents required.  The Land charges team will contact you advising of costs and how to make payment.

Alternatively you may wish to use our online form  and pay by credit card. The Land Charges team will then issue you with the document.

Payment must be made in advance either by bacs or online.
