Primary school pupils in the Vale are being asked to help design a new poster encouraging people not to drop litter as part of a competition being organised by environment warden Colin Marshall.
The winning entry will be used as the basis of a new poster for the Council to use throughout the District as part of our ongoing work to tackle the problem of litter.
There are three age categories – under 7s, 7-9 year-olds and 9-11 year olds - with prizes for the winner and runner-up in each category. A £100 cash prize will also be given to the overall winner’s school.
We are hoping the competition will encourage pupils to think about the problems caused by dropping litter and remind them not to do this themselves.
Competition rules:
The deadline for entries is 8 May. All entries must be clearly marked with the pupil’s name, age and school and should marked for the attention of Colin Marshall at the following Freepost address:
Freepost OF1768
Vale of White Horse District Council
Abbey House
Abingdon
OX14 3BR
Some of the short listed posters will be displayed in our Council offices at the Abingdon and Wantage Local Services Points.
