The Council’s pest control service

The Council provides a professional pest control service for householders or businesses affected by rats, mice and insects including fleas, wasps and bees.

The pest control service cannot currently help with the control of deer, foxes, rabbits, squirrels, moles or birds.

The service is principally for householders. However businesses may also be offered  the service and long term contracts for the eradication and control of pests can be arranged.

The Council has two pest control officers, who are fully trained and experienced. All treatments are carried out as humanely as possible using approved pesticides and methods.

To request the services of the pest control officers please call 01235 520202 where details will be taken by the Councils’ Local Services Point advisors. The information will be passed to a pest control officer who will make contact within three working  days. If they think they can deal with the problem they will then arrange to visit and treat the premises .  

Please note that the Council’s pest control officers cannot take over treatment which has recently been carried out by another pest control contractor. Also our officers may refuse to treat for rats or mice where DIY baiting has recently been carried out.
