Grants and discounts for heating

Warm Front

If you are in receipt of certain benefits, tax credits or pension creidt and you own your home or rent it from a private landlord you may be entitled to a Warm Front grant. The Warm Front Grant provides a package of insulation and heating improvements up to the value of £3,500 (or £6,000 if oil central heating is required). Under certain circumstances, the Warm Front grant may fail to cover the entire of cost of the work recommended. Under these circumstances the Council may be able to offer a £1,000 Energy Top Up Grant. Please contact the Council's Energy Team for more information or to apply - see the contact details on the right.

Warm Front £300 Heating Rebate

The £300 Heating Rebate is available to all householders aged 60 or over who own their home or rent it from a private landlord, who either have no central heating system or one which is in need of repair. Please visit the Warm Front website for more information and to apply.

Are you claiming all the benefits you are entitled to?

If you think you may be entitled to claim state benefits, and therefore eligible for a Warm Front Grant, contact the Eaga Benefits Entitlement Check free on 0800 316 2808. A free and simple benefits entitlement check will be carried out on your behalf.

A1 Low Carbon Solutions

A1 Low Carbon Solutions offers grants and discounts towards the cost of switching heating fuel and installing new boilers. For more information visit the A1 Low Carbon Solutions website.

Boiler Scrappage Scheme

The Government's Boiler Scrappage Scheme has now closed. However, some energy companies are continuing to offer similar discounts when scrapping old boiler and replacing them with high efficiency A-rated boilers. For more information visit the Energy Saving Trust website.
