Have you just moved or are about to move and need some furniture? If so the Oxfordshire Council for Voluntary Action runs a Furniture Store which provides affordable furniture and white goods to people on benefits and low incomes.
To get items at discounted prices, you will need to take along proof of benefits, tax credit, pension book or student card, and you will be asked to complete a form which will be kept at the Furniture Store for monitoring purposes.
The store is based at:
The Old Community Centre
Westlands Drive
Northway
Oxford
OX3 9QY
The store is open Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 12.30pm. For more information see the OCVA website.
If you are looking for specific items, and want to check what is available before you visit, you can call the store on 01865 763698.
The store also now sells stock at undiscounted prices to members of the public. This enables the OCVA to raise funds for the project, and divert more items from unnecessary landfill.
