This section gives information about the parks, open spaces and play areas in the Vale, as well as the work that is carried out to look after these important areas.
There are a range of sporting centres in the Vale, including leisure centres in Abingdon, Faringdon and Wantage; the Tilsley Park football and athletics centre in Abingdon, and the outdoor swimming pool and children’s water feature in Abbey Meadows, Abingdon. Details of all these facilities can be found on these pages.
Find out about the support that the Sports Development Team can give to clubs, coaches, schools and youth groups to help encourage children to take part in sporting activities. The team also organises holiday programmes, as well as several sporting tournaments and events, including hosting the Oxfordshire Youth Games.
