Supplementary Planning Guidance supplement and give more details on specific policies included in the Local Plan. Although they are not part of the Local Plan they should be read in conjunction with it and can be taken into account as a material consideration in determining planning applications. Furthermore the Secretary of State will give them substantial weight in making decisions that come before him.
The Supplementary Planning Guidance has been prepared under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990.
On 20th July 2006 the Council adopted Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) for the following:
The consultation undertaken during the preparation of the SPG and the Council’s response is set out in a separate document called Adopted Supplementary Planning Guidance July 2006, Statement of Public Consultation. Copies of this document are available at the Council’s Office in Abingdon.
All the adopted SPG were published for consultation alongside the proposed modifications to the Local Plan in March 2006 and the Second Deposit Draft in June 2004 except the SPG’s for:
