The Council is responsible for naming and numbering properties in the area. This work is carried out by the Vale’s Address Management Officer.
If you want to alter the official postal address for your property, please contact the Address Management Officer – using the contact details on the right - as soon as possible so that they can make the necessary arrangements.
If your address is numbered already and you wish to add a name this is called an "Alias" and your house number must still be used in your address.
The Royal Mail postcodes checks whether or not your address will conflict with another in your postcode area.
We would strongly suggest you do not use your desired address or print any letterheads or stationary until you have a formal notification from us as to your new address.
It is very important to get properties formally named by the Council and to use the correct address for them as emergency services; gas, water, electric, and telephone companies and insurance companies will all locate the property by the information we provide.
