Public toilets in the Vale

The Council provides public toilets at a number of locations in the Vale. Here are details of where they are located and when they are open.

* Please note the toilets at Manor Road, Wantage, and Abbey Meadows, Abingdon, are only open during the summer, usually from the start of the Easter holidays to the end of September. However there are superloos open 24 hours a day nearby in both towns - see below for details of locations.

These permanent toilet blocks are all cleaned regularly, and are visited at least three times a day by our team of cleaners. If you wish to report any problem with the cleanliness of the toilets please get in touch with our Direct Services Organisation Team using the contact details on the right.

The Council is undertaking a phased programme of work to refurbish these public toilets over the next couple of years.

All the permanent public toilets have disabled access.

Automatic public toilets

In addition to the permanent toilet blocks, the Council provides automatic public toilets, which are self-cleaning and are open 24 hours a day. It costs 20 pence to use these toilets, which can be found at:

  • Hales Meadow, Abingdon (there are two sets of these toilets)
  • West St Helen Street, Abingdon
  • Millbrook Square, Grove
  • Post Office Lane, Wanatge
