Applications should be submitted by the deadlines shown below. This will allow enough time for council officers to check that the application meets the grant criteria and conditions.
The Executive considers grant applications twice a year, usually in April and October. The Area Committees generally meet three times a year, usually in June/July, October/ November and March. The next scheduled meetings are as follow:

|---|---|---|
| North East | 20 January 2009 | 2 March 2009 |
| South East | 28 January 2009 | 10 March 2009 |
| West | 11 February 2009 | 24 March 2009 |
| Abingdon | 5 February 2009 | 19 March 2009 |
| Executive | 18 February 2009 | 3 April 2009 |
Applicants seeking a grant of £500 or less can submit their application at any time as long as they allow a minimum of six weeks before their project or event starts.
If an application meets the grant criteria and it is for more than £500 it will be decided by the relevant committee at the next available meeting. Applicants, if they want to, can attend the meeting and make a statement in support of their application. Applicants who would like to make a statement must notify the Council’s Democratic Services Team on 01235 520202, before 10am on the day of the meeting.
If an application is unsuccessful or it is decided not to award the full amount of grant that has been requested, the Council will inform the applicant in writing of the reasons for the decision.
