Flood action maps

The Environment Agency and the Vale of White Horse District Council have been working together in response to the July 2007 floods.

This work has involved helping to create community flood action plans, explaining river maintenance, exploring short and long-term flood risk management solutions and raising the profile of flood risk within the community. 

As part of this, we have produced maps that pinpoint locations and provide additional information on actions taken, planned and ongoing, one year on.

These illustrate the large-scale works that the Environment Agency is planning, for example in Abingdon, and a joint partnership approach supporting the community in the Hanneys.

We have also produced a separate information sheet – which is included on the reverse of the maps – advising on what you can do to protect your home and your community.
