Flooding – who to contact if you need help

During a flood the Vale Council will work closely with the police, fire and rescue services and the Environment Agency to co-ordinate a response to the incident.

We will provide emergency housing or accommodation if residents have to be evacuated from their homes. We will also provide sandbags to vulnerable homes wherever possible. If you need our help please contact the Council on 01235 520202 or 01235 524886 if you are calling about an emergency out of office hours.

Environment Agency – responsible for managing major rivers, operating the flood defences and for issuing flood warnings

Thames Valley Police – responsible for co-ordinating the emergency services in a major flood incident and helping with the evacuation of people from their homes, if necessary.
