Working in partnership to promote equality and diversity in the Vale

The Embrace partnership

EMBRACE is a partnership of local organisations (including the Vale of White Horse District Council) which want to promote good relations between different cultures and communities and stop racial harassment. To do this, the partners will work together to listen and respond to the needs of communities in  Southern Oxfordshire, particularly people from ethnic minority groups. For more information see our page The Embrace Partnership.

HALT (Homophobia Awareness Liaison Team)

HALT is an Oxfordshire wide multi-agency forum which aims to challenge and eliminate all forms of homophobia and offer support to victims of homophobic abuse.

To help achieve this, the Team has been running a campaign to encourage more people to report homophobic incidents. They have produced reporting cards and posters which have been distributed directly to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community at outreach evenings and the Oxford Pride event. For more information see Reporting racist or homophobic incidents.
