How our environment warden can help tackle local environmental problems

The Vale’s environment warden is Colin Marshall.

His main role is to patrol the villages and towns of the Vale helping to combat environmental crimes.

This includes educating and enforcing people who drop litter or fail to clear up after their dogs who foul in public places. Colin is also involved in the Council’s ongoing work to prosecute people caught fly-tipping.

As well as issuing fines, Colin works to raise awareness of how to improve local environmental quality through community initiatives.

He is also working to identify and address problem areas or “grot spots” that might be blighting village or towns within the district. If there is a grot spot you know of, which no-one else appears to dealing with or you are not sure who is responsible for, please get in touch with Colin so he can look into it and hopefully help out by co-ordinating action to tackle the problem.

Colin can also offer help with community litter picks – for more information see Need help with a community litter pick?

Colin is part of the Council’s Environmental Protection Team. You can get in touch with him using the contact details on the right.
