Grants and discounts for heating

If you are in receipt of a benefit

If you are in receipt of certain benefits and you own your home or rent it from a private landlord you may be entitled to a Warm Front grant. Warm Front is a grant to make homes warmer, healthier and more energy efficient. The Warm Front Grant provides a package of insulation and heating improvements up to the value of £2,700 (or £4,000 if oil central heating is required). The grant, which is a Government-funded initiative, is available to home owners and private renting tenants who are in receipt of certain benefits. Please visit the Warm Front website for more information and to apply.

Under certain circumstances, the Warm Front grant may fail to cover the entire of cost of the work recommended. Under these circumstances the Council may be able to offer a £1,000 Energy Top Up Grant.  Please contact the Vale Energy Team for more information or to apply - see the contact details on the right.

If you are not in receipt of a benefit

If you do not qualify for a Warm Front Grant because you do not receive a relevant benefit, you may still be eligible for a £300 rebate. The £300 Heating Rebate is available to all householders aged 60 or over who own their home or rent it from a private landlord, who either have no central heating system or one which is in need of repair. Please visit the Warm Front website for more information and to apply.
