As a Council we consult regularly. In some cases this is a statutory requirement, for instance planning applications and planning development policies. We also consult on the provision of our services because we find it useful to get feedback from the public to help us adapt our services acccording to their needs.
One of the main ways we do this is through a citizens' panel called Vale Voice. The panel has more than 980 members from throughout the District who represent the main groups in our community according to age, gender, employment status and other demographics. The panel is asked about a range of service issues around three times a year using a postal survey. Occasionally members are invited to take part in focus group discussions on particular subjects.
