The SCI which was adopted in 2006 sets out how and when the community will be invited to participate in the production of Local Development Framework documents, and how they are consulted on planning applications.
The Council has reviewed its Statement of Community Involvement because the Government has changed how planning policy documents are prepared so that Council's have greater flexibility in how they involve the public. There are also some changes that have taken place in the Council's development control procedures and its use of the web. These changes together with the closure of the Council's office at Faringdon meant that the Statement of Community Invovlement was out of date.
The draft Statement of Community Involvement was out for consultation between 27th May and 8th July 2009. It can downloaded, along with associated documentation from the right of the page. The comments received will be taken into account in a revised version which will be adopted by the Council later in the year.
