County waste recycling centres

Oxfordshire County Council runs a number of major waste recycling and reception centres, of which these three serve the Vale:

  • Drayton: Steventon Road B4017 between Drayton and Steventon 
  • Stanford in the Vale: A417 between Stanford and Faringdon
  • Redbridge: Off Abingdon Road, Oxford, via Southern Ring Road

All sites are open seven days a week from 8am to 5pm. From April to September these sites also open late on Thursday until 8pm.

The following materials can be taken to all three of the above Waste Recycling Centres:

  • Batteries – household and car
  • Bicycles
  • Cans
  • Cardboard
  • Chemicals – household
  • Computer monitors
  • Foil
  • Fridges and freezers
  • Gas bottles
  • Glass – bottles and jars
  • Glass – sheet
  • Green waste for composting
  • Light bulbs and fluorescent tubes
  • Metal – scrap
  • Oil – engine oil only
  • Paper
  • Plastics – mixed soft plastics
  • Soil and rubble
  • Televisions
  • Textiles & clothing
  • Tyres – small quantities for which there is a charge
  • White goods – cookers, fridges, etc
  • Wood
