The Youth Parliament is an independent national charity which aims to give young people aged 11-19 a voice. There are currently more than 300 elected Members of the Youth Parliament (MYPs). For more information about this can be found on the UKYP website .
In Oxfordshire there are three MYPs, supported by Deputies (DMYPs) representing North Oxfordshire, the City and South Oxfordshire (which covers South and the Vale).
As MYPs, Rachel and Helen will get the opportunity to meet with the Government to discuss issues affecting young people.
They will also participate in meetings with decision-makers at county level, will attend divisional youth forums and district Council events and will represent Oxfordshire at regional and national UK Youth Parliament (UK YP) meetings.
