Street cleaning

Our contractors clean all public streets in the district on a rota basis. This can be anything from daily to once every eight weeks according to the what is required in the area.

Crews clean town centres and pavements including sweeping roads, verges and channels, and litter picking. We follow the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs code of practice for dealing with litter - for more information about this code see the Defra website This link will take you to an external website... .

You can report a street cleaning problem using our online form.

Our contractors are also responsible for removing the following types of waste from public areas (not from private land). Please report any problems so we can arrange for them to be dealt with.

Litter bins

Litter bins on highways in the Vale which have a district council logo are emptied on a regular basis by our contractors. You can report an overflowing bin using our online form.
