Environmental wardens
How our environment wardens can help tackle local environmental problems
The Vale has two environment wardens. Their main role is to patrol the villages and towns of the Vale helping to combat environmental crimes.
This includes educating and enforcing people who drop litter or fail to clear up after their dogs who foul in public places. Our wardens are also involved in the council's ongoing work to prosecute people caught fly-tipping.
As well as issuing fines, they work to raise awareness of how to improve local environmental quality through community initiatives.
They are also working to identify and address problem areas or "grot spots" that might be blighting village or towns within the district.
The wardens can also offer help with community litter picks.
The wardens are part of the council's Environmental Protection team. You can get in touch with them using the contact details on the right.
