Local Plan 2011

The Vale of White Horse Local Plan 2011 was adopted in July 2006.  We are currently developing a new local plan.

Since the Local Plan 2011 was adopted we have had a number of changes to the planning system including the publication of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF).  We have published an assessment on how the saved policies of the Local Plan 2011 are consistent with the National Planning Policy Framework (133.5 KB) PDF

Until our new local plan is adopted, policies in this Local Plan that are consistent with the NPPF will still be considered alongside the Framework in day-to-day planning decisions made either by the Planning Committee or by officers using delegated powers.  Each case will need to be considered on its individual merits.  Where policies are not consistent with the Framework, planning applications should be considered in accordance with the policies set out within the Framework.

Saved policies

For the time being our Development Plan includes saved policies from the Oxfordshire Structure Plan 2016 and the Local Plan 2011 which have been extended.  These policies will be replaced by those in the Local Plan 2031 when it is adopted. We have also published an assessment on how the saved policies of the Local Plan 2011 are consistent with the National Planning Policy Framework (133.5 KB) PDF
